CPR & Defibrillator Course

The CPR & Defibrillator Course Is Designed For The General Public And Covers Basic First Aid Skills For Adults As Well As First Aid In The Workplace.

This comprehensive course equips learners with essential skills and knowledge for effective first aid in public settings and the workplace. It covers a broad range of critical topics, ensuring participants are well-prepared to handle various emergency situations.

Key learning outcomes:

  • Understanding the role of a first aider:
    Grasp responsibilities such as infection prevention, incident recording, and stress management post-incident.
  • Assessing emergency situations:
    Conduct scene and casualty surveys to evaluate risks and prioritise actions.
  • Responding to unresponsive casualties:
    Administer CPR and use AEDs.
    Place casualties in the recovery position and monitor their condition.
  • Managing choking incidents:
    Identify choking signs and administer appropriate first aid, including back blows and abdominal thrusts.
  • Handling external bleeding and shock:
    Assess the severity of bleeding and apply first aid techniques for both life-threatening and minor bleeding.
    Recognise and treat shock, particularly hypovolaemic shock.
  • Dealing with minor injuries:
    Provide first aid for small wounds, bruises, splinters, nosebleeds, and minor burns or scalds.

Throughout the course, learners will engage in practical demonstrations and exercises, such as practicing CPR on a manikin, to ensure they can effectively apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. By the end of the course, participants will be confident in their ability to provide critical first aid in a variety of emergencies, making them valuable assets in any workplace.

Certification:
You will receive a Skills Training Group CPR & AED certificate. If you require a workplace-specific certificate, you will need to complete the Emergency First Aid at Work course.
